Voters need to learn more about John Mannion on digital platforms and in the mailbox, especially in the eastern half of New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Particularly, voters should understand John Mannion is continuing to push for legislation that makes groceries and utility bills more affordable, supports common sense, bipartisan immigration reform with paths to citizenship, and hopes to expand affordable healthcare access to all Americans.
John Mannion, first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2024, spent 25 years as a public school science teacher, advocated for students and teachers as a local teacher union president. John and his wife Jen want their three children to be able stay here and build a good life. In his time as a New York State Senator, he led the effort to bring Micron and its 50,000 jobs to Central New York. He pushed to provide more funding for public schools in Central New York, passed some of the strongest protections for abortion access in the country, and fought to make our communities safer, like when he led the effort to bring the Syracuse Airport its own police force.
Since he has been in Congress, John has been a constant voice against unilateral executive action from President Trump, opposing military action without Congressional approval. He has stood up against the reckless leadership from Trump and Kristi Noem that has turned ICE into their paramilitary, has opposed unconstitutional tariffs, voted against radical cuts to Medicaid, and continues to support collective bargaining rights for our federal workforce.
